We elected these bureaucrats, and now they are increasing our license fee to $850 per year. These are the guys who are taking our hard earned money. Remember their names at voting time. Remember how much money they are costing you.

Augmentation des frais OACIQ / ACAIQ. Ils veulent 711,49 $ plus – Nous devons contester !

-Texte anglais suit-

The OACIQ / ACAIQ is increasing our Real Estate Permit fee. They want an additional $711.49. We must fight the fee increase!

You are a real estate agent who works hard for every dollar. How many nights do you spend showing houses instead of eating dinner with your family? How much time do you spend arguing with greedy clients?

Now the OACIQ / ACAIQ wants even more money to fuel their bureaucracy. You have just received a bill for an additional $711.49 in order to maintain your real estate license. Remember, in December you already paid over $400 for your license, now the bureaucrats want even more. The OACIQ has autocratically increased the licensing fee to $850, without any consultation with its members.

Your hard earned money is being wasted, and our livelihood is being jeopardized. The only way to fight the massive licensing fee increase is to contact the OACIQ and to protest.

Call the OACIQ at 450 676 4800 or 1 800 440 5110.

Call now, because they want your money by June 16th

The OACIQ’s massive fee increase will hurt agents and consumers

May 17, 2010

It is my opinion that the massive fee increase will have the following effects:

1) Many agents will be forced to leave the profession. Many real estate agents only work part time, and only sell a few properties per year. These agents will not be able to keep up with the massive fee increases, and they will be forced to abandon the real estate profession.

2) The fee increase will harm the average consumers. Agents will be less inclined to offer reduced commission rates to clients, and many agents will be forced to charge full price for their services. The average commission rates will actually increase. Furthermore, since many agents will quit the profession, the consumers will have far less choice, and there will be reduced competition.

Call the OACIQ, tell them that you object to the fee increase. Call them at 450 676 4800 or 1 800 440 5110.

OACIQ money grab. You just got a bill for $711.49. PAY UP, OR FIND A NEW JOB!

May 17, 2010

The money grab is on. The OACIQ has just sent out BILLS to all of its members. If you are  real estate agent in Quebec you will now have to pay an additional $711.49 just to work as an agent in 2010.

You must pay up by June 16, 2010, or else you will no longer be permitted to sell real estate.

The OACIQ raised the membership fee by $450 from last year, without any consultation from it’s members. The bureaucrats working at the OACIQ, sitting in their nice offices at 6300 Auteuil in Brossard have autocratically declared that the fees to operate as an agent in Quebec will go up by 112%.

We, as agents, are paying their salaries. Our hard earned money is being wasted by the OACIQ and now they want even more!

Call the OACIQ, tell them that you object to the fee increase. Call them at 450 676 4800 or 1 800 440 5110.

OACIQ Increases membership fees by 112%, MORE THAN DOUBLE!

May 17, 2010

The cost of maintaining our real estate license in Quebec has now increased by $450 since last year.

In 2009 the License fee was $399.99, plus $10 for the indemnity fund. In 2010, the license fee has been increased to $850, plus $53 for the indemnity fund.

Why has the cost more than doubled?

The OACIQ will be using this new money to increase wasteful spending. I believe that the higher fees are an attempt to reduce the number of real estate agents (since many will not have the money to renew their license) and to prevent agents from lowing their commission rates (since agents will have to charge full price in order to keep up with the fee increases)

By increasing the license fees, the OACIQ is acting against the best interest of its members, and the consumers-  the OACIQ must be stopped.
